In Dutch, when one says goodbye to a friend, they utter doei [do-we]. 
Doei to our beloved oversized Dutch clogs that lined the streets in last year’s exhibit. For the past year these hand-painted Dutch clog sculptures have brightened the City. Creating a buzz in the media and on social media through photo-opps for kids, pets and adults alike, the clogs added a touch a vibrancy to ten different Downtown locations. While it is sad to see them leave the streets it is not goodbye, but rather tot ziens, or see you later, as the Dutch say.
Currently the Dutch clogs are taking a nap in the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) office. In cubicles, on conference room tables and anywhere else there is room for a 7-foot clog. The BID office will not be the final resting place however. Their final destinations are yet to be determined. But hurry – the clogs are up for sale and then auction. And already they are moving out the door.
Going once, going twice.. That’s right, we’re selling our soles. Art collectors, shoe lovers, clog crazy friends and Sculpture in the Streets fans are invited to purchase a piece of the Downtown exhibit inspired by Albany’s Dutch heritage.
