The Playhouse Stage Co. provides professional plays and musicals to the public, and arts education programs to young people in the Capital Region. With free and affordable admission to productions, they make theater an accessible art form for all.
High Quality Productions & Programs in the Capital Region
Playhouse Stage Company has been producing outdoor summer theater productions in Albany's Washington Park for over 30 years. Starting in August 2020, the organization also manages Cohoes Music Hall, which features everything from the best in live music and stand-up comedy to Playhouse Stage Company's own plays and musicals.
All of their Washington Park productions are free and open to the public for several nights during each summer season; affordable reserved and VIP seats are available as well. The performances are held at the amphitheatre at the Lakehouse in Washington Park.
Discover Educational Programs and Classes
In addition to musicals and plays, Playhouse Stage Company also offers a variety of programs and classes, including a summer arts education program that consists of a musical theatre day camp. They take great pride in working with students to build important skills and gain confidence that they can take with them into adulthood.
Their Playhouse Stage Academy Tykes program is perfect for students ages 5-10 who are just starting out in the theatre arts. It's open to students who are interested in registering, no audition required, on a first-come, first-served basis during the summer.
Playhouse Stage Company hosts programs and camps for students ages 8-18 as well. Their official studio is at The Future of Talent Company in Cohoes, a safe, comfortable and dynamic facility in which to build students' skills.
