As far as sports are concerned, Albany’s hometown heroes can be found on the ice. Devils Figure Skating? Devils Curling? Devils Hockey!
Even if hockey isn’t your go to sport, one cannot dismiss the action and excitement that takes place when a puck finds its way into the back of the net or a player gets slammed into the boards. Let us attempt to both inform you about the offers that the Devils are putting out there while teaching you about a few hockey techniques/penalty meanings.
Have you checked (using the hip or body to knock an opponent against the boards or to the ice) out a game before? If not there are tons of incentives to get you into seat. In fact, every match up at the Times Union Center has something special going on. Make your way out to a game and you will be hooked (the act of impeding an opponent by placing the blade of a stick into their body). Here are a few promotions/events that you should not overlook.
“SEFCU Student Night”
SEFCU and the Devils reward the studious with discounts on Student Night. All Friday night Albany Devils home hockey games are just $10 with a valid college ID.
“Deuces Wild”
2 Tickets to Devils vs. Phantoms on October 26, 2 Albany Devils Hats, 2 Popcorns, 2 Sodas, 2 Ticket Vouchers for the November 12 or November 24 Game for the low price of $35.
“Cash for Coats”
The Devils match on October 26 will be the venue for Mayor Gerald D. Jennings’ Cash for Coats program and will be accepting donations to keep Albany’s children warm. Any donation value will be appreciated. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of winter apparel for needy kids in Albany.
In addition to these great promotions and activities the Devils offers discounted food items and Albany Devils gear including hats, magnets, shirts, and bobble heads. These promos are the icing (when a player shoots the puck across both the center red line and the opposing team’s goal line without the puck going into the net or being able to be touched by an opposing player in their neutral or defensive zones) on the cake.
Head on over to the Albany Devils website and take a look at their promotional schedule. Pick a day to head over to the Times Unions Center and experience the action first hand. You might just find yourself making your way back to experience a hat-trick (when one player scores three goals in a game).
Go Devils!
