Community involvement and the holiday season, a perfect pair. The Albany Devils are proof of this, with their hockey players showing not only are they committed to the rink; they are committed to helping out the local organizations and charities as well. Take a look at the Devils Difference blog, devilsdifference.tumblr.com, and read for yourself. Here are three recent instances where the team went above and beyond their commitment as hockey players.
Y – M – C – A – The Albany Devils are not only familiar with these letters as an arena jock jam, recently the team visited two different YMCA Y-Time after-school programs in the area. Children in the afterschool program chatted with the players, took group photos, and even got autographs from their hockey heroes.
Devil Dogs – Back in October players visited some of the animals at the Mohawk-Hudson Humane society for some much needed attention. Oh hey, by the way, are you a proud dog owner? Bring your pup to the game on January 5, 2013 for Pucks N’ Paws Night. That’s right – bring your dog to the game!
Habitat for Humanity – Since arriving to downtown Albany the Devils have been donating time and energy toward Habitat for Humanity. In early October the team helped out with some construction at a South Pearl Street site.
Head over to the Times Union Center for an upcoming game to watch these hockey heroes do what they do best.
