Buses do more than you think. They save gas – of course, but they can also save you time through convenience. The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) offers 55 routes throughout the area and more than half of those are in Downtown, making it easy AND quick to take the bus to work (even if it’s only once a week), run errands, or go out for the night. Bikes? Bring them.
Low cost fares, pass discounts and swipers make the cost easy on the wallet, and in some cases a CDTA bus pass can get you even more. For instance, local shops, like Stagecoach Coffee in downtown Albany, offer product discounts to riders. Savings on top of savings – who can argue with that.
Even if you’re not a rider, CDTA is still there to serve you. Through the CDTA Safewatch program all drivers are connected through a two-way radio with local police enforcement and trained to be alert for possible problems. Anyone, rider or not, in need of emergency help can board a bus and remain safe while the driver contacts local police. To learn more about CDTA safety policies watch their newest video at youtube.com/iRideCDTA.
Hop on one of CDTA’s over 300 buses at one of their 2,777 stops and explore what’s happening. What better way to get to the office, dinner, a show, or shops in downtown Albany and experience the GOOD Life?
See you Downtown.
