1. Los Angeles Rams – Jared Goff, QB, California
The “newish” expansion franchise gets its in-state golden boy
2. Philadelphia Eagles – Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
Philly’s latest project at QB has tremendous upside and is a fierce competitor
3. TRADE San Diego Chargers (acquired from Jacksonville) – Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
An impact player with a high motor, Bosa will move all over the defensive front to exploit the weak link in the offenses protection
4. Dallas Cowboys – Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida State
A versatile, smart and super athletic defensive back, Jerry Jones cannot keep his hands off this elite cover man
5. TRADE Jacksonville Jaguars (acquired from San Diego) – DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
The Jags get another piece to build their defense around. Paired with a healthy Dante Fowler, a daunting pass rush is a sure fire way to jump start a struggling defense
6. Baltimore Ravens – Laremy Tunsil, OT, Mississippi
Reminiscent of all-everything Hall of Famer Jonathan Ogden, Tunsil is a strong, nasty guy whose dominated when paired up against the nations top pass rushers
7. San Francisco 49ers – Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
I believe in special talent and Elliott is a special talent. Elliott has withstood the test of time in the rugged BIG 10 conference and has had significant success in States biggest games
8. Cleveland Browns – Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
Some talent to help RGIII transition, Coleman runs crisp routes and has high football IQ which should assist in his learning curve while studying pro style pass defenses
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
A hardcore, productive linebacker, the Buccaneers wont be able to resist if the athletic Jack is still sitting there.
10. New York Giants – Vernon Hargraves, CB, Florida
A natural selection with the departure of Prince Amukumuah, Hargraves will give the G-Men a top notch cover man who isn’t afraid to provide run support
11. Chicago Bears – Sheldon Rankin, DT, Louisville
With Elliott gone to the 49ers, the Bears address another need on the interior of their defense. Rankin is a plug who is durable and should be able to provide pressure in pass rush situations
12. New Orleans Saints – William Jackson III, CB, Houston
The Saints have multiple needs and get a solid pick up with Jackson III. A cover man with good lateral movement, the Saints should sleep easy with this pick
13. Miami Dolphins – Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State
Again, assuming Elliott is off the board, the Dolphins cannot afford to miss on their first round pick in 2016. They play it safe and go with Conklin, a strong, impact blocker who consistently beat his man while blocking for the Spartans
14. Oakland Raiders – Vonn Bell, S, Ohio State
An athletic hard hitting safety, Bell has the potential to be a solid defensive back for years to come for the silver and black
15. Tennessee Titans – Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
They found their QB, now its time for them to protect him. Stanley will be protect Marriota and clear paths for the Titans run game
16. Detroit Lions – Josh Dotson, WR, TCU
An explosive receiver with sticky hands, Dotson should help ease the Calvin Johnson hangover
17. Atlanta Falcons – Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia
A stud linebacker for the Bulldogs, Floyd will team with Vic Beasley Jr. to give the Falcons athleticism on defense and a pass rush necessary to corral the likes of Cam Newton and Drew Brees.
18. Indianapolis Colts – Shilique Calhoun, OLB, Michigan State
An underrated player, Calhoun was a productive player during his time at Michigan State. He will be a pass rushing, active and athletic linebacker for Indy.
19. Buffalo Bills – Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama
Rex Ryan can’t keep his hands off the Bama stud linebacker. A defensive star for Nick Saban’s pro style defense, Ragland was consistent and stood out on film during the Tides biggest games
20. New York Jets – Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State
After blowing a top pick on defensive back Dee Millner years ago, the Jets are looking to get younger and more production from their secondary. Apple is another Buckeye who is explosive out of his backpedal and uses leverage well to stay in position on bigger more physical receivers
21. Washington Redskins – Shaq Lawson, DE/OLB, Clemson
I have Lawson dropping a little in this years draft primarily due to health concerns, however, if Lawson is able to in any way stay healthy, he has the motor and physical ability to dominate
22. Houston Texans – Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
The perfect compliment to All-Pro wide out DeAndre Hopkins, Thomas will require defenses to play honest football, giving newly acquired quarterback, Brock Osweilder more ammunition to win with
23. Minnesota Vikings – Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
With Mike Wallaces departure and Corde Patterson underachieving, Shepard may become the perfect compliment to Adrian Peterson. Vikings quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater will depend on Shepard early and often to stretch the defense and provide some much needed relief for AP
24. Cincinnati Bengals – Karl Joseph, S, West Virgina
A productive, active safety, Joseph will jump into that Reggie Nelson role and produce immediately. Joseph will fit in well with a group full of former top picks who either underachieved or are approaching the end of their careers
25. Pittsburgh Steelers – Jonathan Bullard, DE/DT, Florida
Mike Tomlin loves his defense and Jonathan Bullard is a sexy look if still available. Bullard was productive against top notch competition coming out of the SEC. He may be the next great Steeler pass rusher in a division where consistently getting after the passer is an absolute must
26. Seattle Seahawks – Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT, Mississippi
Pete Carroll rolls the dice and gets a productive defensive lineman who encapsulates what you would like your run stopping / pass rusher to be
27. Green Bay Packers – Cody Whitehair, G, Kansas State
Aaron Rodgers was disgruntled much of last season due to poor pass blocking. Whitehair is a safe pick who will produce. A strong, physical lineman,
28. Kansas City Chiefs – Noah Spence, OLB, Ohio State
A throw back, hard-nosed linebacker, Spence will be an every down linebacker for Andy Reid. Jumping into an already talent laden group, Spence will learn how to be a pro both on and off the field
29. Arizona Cardinals – Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
In the same mold as Calais Campbell, Billings is a mountain of a man who will stuff the run and give the Cardinals a stout presence on running downs
30. Carolina Panthers – Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
Dodd often goes over-looked due to all everything DE/OLB Shaq Lawson. Dodd’s game may translate better to the professional level giving his ability to not only rush the passer, but also make plays against the run
31. Denver Broncos – Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
A big, fast, athlete at tight end is the blueprint for offensive success in today’s NFL. John Elway understands there was inferior production from his tight end position last season and finally replaces Julius Thomas who he let go to Jacksonville after the 2014 season.
