Even if you don’t have rhyme, you must have rhythm. In fact, the rhythm of life, it’s a powerful beat, puts a tingle in your fingers and a tingle in your feet. Rhythm in your bedroom, rhythm in the street …
(Sorry, I sometimes lapse into the lyrics of old Broadway musicals. In this instance, “Rhythm of Life” from “Sweet Charity,” circa late 1960s, film version 1969).
But, there truly is a ryhthm to life, to love, to breathing, to thought … to everything. In fact, adherents of yoga say that by practicing rhythmic breathing you can become attuned to the rhythm of the universe.
So, what does the Labor Day Weekend forecast look like for a world full of bombings, ambushes, climactic tragedies, political outrages and celebrity shenanigans, a world in which we can’t seem to get into step with each other?
A relief from the blistering heat of recent days, lots of sun and puffy white clouds. Take advantage of this downtime to think about the seasons that lie ahead and what you can do to make your life a little more fulfilling — and invite someone else along for the ride.
