For me, October is many things – pumpkins, scary movies, bold and colorful fall foliage, and rich, spicy apple cider. More than anything, it’s the color pink – and the many breast cancer awareness efforts – that signifies the arrival of one of my most favorite months.
In recent years, the color pink has taken the role of the driver and other aspects of the month have taken a backseat; as time passes, more and more individuals and companies are taking action and participating in Breast Cancer Awareness month. It’s inspiring, an incredibly motivational time of the year that brings many together for one cause. Working together toward one common goal – creating awareness – can be mentally and in many cases, physically beneficial to an individual, a team, an entire company. It’s no secret that encouraging company participation in these events is a significant morale booster, not to mention a community and team building experience. Take note of upcoming events in addition to the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk (October 21st) in which you and/or your company can get involved to raise awareness:
