Last night, the Walrath Recruiting team attended Conversations & Connections, a Business Review networking event. We entered the Million Air Terminal as a group, bonded together by a few things: first, we were there to represent a job well done this past year. Second, we dedicate ourselves to work we fully believe in, and a business we’re proud to be a part of. Above all, we were there to join others just like us who are appreciative of the past, succeeding now, and are excited about the future prospects of the work we’ve dedicated ourselves to.
As attendees mingled and met local professionals for the first time, caught up with old friends, and enjoyed food and drinks, one thing was evident – these people believed in what they were doing. There are a number of ways to define success, something that can only be achieved by believing in yourself first. To truly be successful, you must also believe in what it is that you’re doing. Truly believing in a company vision, a specific product or service, and/or your clients are all keys to achieving both success and happiness. Believing in “it” is what motivates, inspires and propels an individual to the next level.
When it comes to a career, do you believe in what you’re doing right now? If you don’t, it may be time to do some soul-searching. While interviewing candidates, we ask questions that specifically address industry, atmosphere, personality, job duties and responsibilities, and future goals. We want to ensure that qualified, talented individuals are placed in positions that are right for them so that they can grow and succeed. We want them to perform work that they believe in for a company they believe in. It’s that dedication that leads to self fulfillment and a true sense of success.
Find that thing (or things) you believe in. Pursue it, work hard, and above all else, really enjoy it.
“Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.” -David Frost
