One thing that I have always liked about Jerry Jennings was the way he stuck to a position that he thought was right. Now here’s Jerry (the same Jerry that circumvented the party when he won a surprising primary election in 1992) getting cozy with Junior Commisso. Junior, who until McEneny decided not to seek reelection was constantly bombarding the mayor over fiscal and union issues (in his desire to be the next Mayor) as a member of the Albany Common Council representing the city’s 15th Ward. Now that Junior has been handed the Democratic primary for the 109th by his father and the party, the mayor decides to side with the other local Dem’s in endorsing Commisso. I guess the bottom line Jerry, is that you are a member of The Party, and you will walk along party lines no matter what. It doesn’t matter if you personally like or believe in the principles of this person. What matters is this: You have to run for re-election and you will need his endorsement, and the 109th District comprises a lot of the city of Albany and you will need Junior’s support in the assembly. Nice cave-in Mr. Mayor. Where do I send my check for tickets to the breakfast?……….While I was writing this blog, a story came across the network wire that Jerry Sandusky’s legal team intend to present a defense of mental defect. If that evil, poor excuse for a human being walks away from this without spending the rest of his life in prison, there is something wrong with the judicial system this country. I hope that the government has crossed all the “T’s” in it’s presentation.……….On the other hand, it’s good to see the judicial system at work. In Charlotte, North Carolina, which is the site for the Democratic convention in September, they have proposed an amendment to the state’s constitution allowing the sale of alcohol on normally dry days. Keeping the wheels of power greased. Way to go politico’s.
And that is “The Daily Take”
