If you are undecided about who to vote for in the race for District Attorney, go to Newschannel 13’s website, and play the video of one of their reporters trying to interview David Soares, as he exited the room where he was being deposed for that supposed legal mess he’s involved with in Florida. The arrogance he displays is unbelievable. The reporter new that Soares wasn’t going to say anything, but the way he blew him off only made it easier for the viewers to draw their own conclusions. I don’t think he knows it, but he is losing this primary election. Only recently, have I seen any evidence that he is actively campaigning. If he thinks that his track record as an incumbent is going to win this primary, then he better think again. His challenger, Lee Kindlon, is running a nice campaign, and is doing the first thing necessary to win an election as a challenger: Get out in front of the people (getting some nice endorsements along the way is nice also.) While every candidate, in every primary in Albany has to toe the Democratic line, I believe that ‘good ole boy’ politics is slowly coming to an end . There is a different set of voters out there now, and this year, they’re going to put someone new into that office on Lodge Street. Next year: Someone new in room 102? ………..Why doesn’t one of the local television stations sponsor a debate with the candidates for the 109th? They could hold it somewhere in front of an audience, and broadcast it one Saturday or Sunday morning. Advertising revenue? There is nothing like a good old debate, not only to get their views, but to view their character. I would love to see Jim Kambrich come up with some serious questions, and see how they act under pressure. It’s a lot different than publishing long winded edicts — probably written by someone else — on a website.
And that is “The Daily Take”
