A couple of month’s ago, I wrote in this blog that the local elections, unlike one’s in the national spotlight, usually were free of mudslinging. That has been mostly true due to the fact that Albany was void of any major primary elections. Now we have the race for the seat in the 109th Assembly District, the one with six candidates vying for Jack McEneny’s spot. It seems that Frank Commisso Jr., or Junior as I like to refer to him, has been called out for allegedly being the author of an e-mail aimed at Pat, questioning her record on public education. Fahy, accordingly, responded calling it dirty machine politics, which it is. The problem is, Junior didn’t write it. Like everything else published from the Commisso campaign, it was written by someone else in his camp The footnoted e-mail — like all the edicts that have come from Western Avenue — couldn’t have come from the pen of Junior. He is simply not capable of producing such intelligent sounding material. Rhetoric you say? It appears he and Fahy have come out as frontrunners in this primary — in the media anyway — and with two weeks left to primary day, I believe Pat is one good endorsement away from victory. How about you Jack. You said that you weren’t going to endorse anyone in this race. Why not? You’re soon to be out of the political arena, you certainly can’t be worried about backlash from local Democrats. You said that if you were to endorse a candidate, they would have to be in favor of the convention center project (Albany needs a convention center downtown like New Orleans needs rain.) Well, the convention center hasn’t even been an issue in this campaign. I know that you’re a loyal Democrat, but do you really want to see Junior sitting in your seat? I think that you know, as voters are coming to know, that he has no qualifications for the job. You have the deciding vote. Why don’t you make it. You made your decision a long time ago.
And that is “The Daily Take”
