With the job market being what it is today, I find it appalling that the former deputy county executive in Michael Breslin’s administration, Michael Perrin, has been named director of construction administration for the state Dormitory Authority. This is just another example of a political hack moving from job to job on the taxpayers dime. Just what qualifications — except for being a good Democrat — does he possess for that $116,000/yr (do directors still drive Crowne Vic’s) job that was provided by Mike Breslin’s brother, Neil. Supposedly, his job is as a liaison between the Authority and other state agencies, including the DEC, Parks & Recreation, and Historical Preservation. During my career, I spent time as a construction administrator. I was responsible for the oversight of projects from the owners standpoint. I find it hard to believe that Perrin can read blueprints, understand contract specifications, and maintain construction schedules. What he is responsible for, a grade 9 clerk can do (except the grade 9 doesn’t have to kiss anybody’s ass.) Does he have to show up? Does he stay in that job for the remainder of the Cuomo administration, or will they find him something else that pays more money. Give me a break. ……….Quote from Junior Commisso (he is running for assembly): “You can support accountability and transparency in government based on ethical and moral considerations, or you can support equivocation based on political considerations.” What the hell is that supposed to mean. I had to look up equivocation. Kudos to whoever wrote that Frank. The person he is aiming that barb at is Pat Fahy, who by some is considered his main competition. Those two are the only ones who have publicly sparred in print and social media. With the primary less than two weeks away, it makes you wonder if they or anyone will dump their remaining cash into television. In Junior’s latest mailer which I got today, he is posing like he does this every day. That must have cost you a few bucks, eh.
