It’s now just a little more than a week until we good Democrats go to the polls to see who becomes the next assemblyperson in the 109th Assembly District. There is absolutely nothing better than to see a candidate grasping for straws in the final hours. The candidate that I’m referring to is Junior Commisso. Today, he came out with a press release, stating in an unequivocal manner, that he would not vote to keep Shelly Silver as assembly speaker. Gee, Frank, we really expected you to be backing Shelly for fear of, if elected, being banished to an office the size of a broom closet (I read that somewhere about a assemblyman who pissed-off Silver.) I have to give you credit though, the person who writes your press releases and edicts for you does one heck of a job.……….It’s interesting to drive around Albany and see the campaign signs on the lawns in the different wards. Except for the 15th, where Junior has almost every house wallpapered, my estimation would be that you see more Fahy signs than anyone else. That’s a good sign — no pun intended — because the city of Albany comprises 75% of the population in the109th AD. It doesn’t hurt either to have the backing of the committee chairs in the Town’s of Bethlehem, Guilderland, and New Scotland. ……….Michelle Obama kicked some serious ass last night at the Democratic convention; unlike her wannabe Republican counterpart who came across to me as phoney. The video they showed before her speech showed a real mom, wife, and person. “Being President doesn’t change who you are, it reveals who you are” is one awesome quote. Can you picture Ann Romney on her hands and knees planting vegetables, or doing push-ups with Ellen.……….Speaking of Republicans. I cannot believe that Romney didn’t mention the war in Afghanistan in his acceptance speech the other night. What, does he expect if elected that the war will have gone away by then? Usually, the Republicans are looking for a good war. I just can’t see Mitt down in the situation room with his finger on the trigger. To me, everything about him is just not right. He actually mentioned his father George the other night. He never brings up his father. I am also tired about hearing how many times Mitt was awakened in the middle of the night to help out one of his church buddies. They showed him the other day having a good time boating. What was that you were driving Mitt, the launch that takes you to the big boat? Enough of that.
