The National Bottle Museum, 76 Milton Ave, Ballston Spa, presents it's chief annual fundraiser which draws collectors and dealers from across the United States. All varieties of bottles can be be found including early New England glass, medicines, figurals, Bitters, soda, whiskey and beer bottles; along with with milk bottles, canning jars, stoneware, insulators and other related items. Antique bottles and stoneware, aside from their historic value, make wonderful home decor and bottles from all periods of American History are at the show, including the colorful bottles used to hold the Saratoga Mineral Waters. Bottle Art will also be available by Richard Carney of Old Bottle Sea Glass of Maine, well known for his artifact pieces. If you have an empty old bottle you want identification on, bring it to the show.
MILK BOTTLE HISTORY
The Show will feature an educational exhibit entitled "ORANGE COUNTY MILK BOTTLE MUSEUM: PRESERVING NEW YORKS LOST DAIRY FARMING EMPIRE" by Alex Prizgintas, founder of the Orange County Milk Bottle Museum. On display will be some of the earliest glass containers used for milk, which are rarely seen.
Before or after the show do not miss visiting the Bottle Museum, open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the day of the show. Highlights include a recent update of The RALPH AND ELEANOR WORK COLLECTION of Saratoga type Bottles, now in new backlit cases adding entirely new visuals to the colors and hues of the bottles.* Along with this is the new SPOUTING SPRINGS EXHIBIT, a history of the Springs just south of Saratoga known as "The Geysers"
Entry to the National Bottle Museum is free to bottle show visitors and dealers on the day of the show. Present your bottle show admission ticket when you visit the Museum. Parking at the show is free. Food and refreshments will be available on site provided by the Brickyard Tavern.
