On Saturday, February 8, 2025, The Town’s Open Space, Trails & Riverfront Committee (OSC) would like to invite interested citizens to be part of a Volunteer Nature Preserve Work Group to accomplish prescribed projects We are hosting an Open House so that residents can learn more about this proposed team.
The work group would work with Town Staff and the OSC Stewardship Subcommittee on projects needed at the nature preserves the town owns and manages. If formed, this group would meet regularly and complete specific projects.
While skills are a major benefit (Project Management, Construction, Landscaping, Carpentry, etc.), enthusiasm and interest in being part of a motivated team to achieve specific goals that benefit our Town open space properties are paramount. It is our hope that a dedicated preserve management work group will fill a gap between the episodic efforts of volunteers doing annual clean-up work in preserves, and town staff doing maintenance with heavy equipment.
