The 5th Annual Electric City 10K is set to kick off the Capital District's 2025 road race season on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 9:30 AM. Join us at the scenic Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady, NY, for an energetic and fun-filled event that welcomes the arrival of spring. The race starts near the amphitheater and finishes at the courtyard of The Landing Hotel by Rivers Casino, offering participants a picturesque route along the waterfront.
Packet Pick-Up Schedule:
- Friday, March 7, 2025: 4 PM to 6 PM at the AREEP Office.
- Saturday, March 8, 2025: 8 AM to 9 AM at The Landing Hotel.
Participants are encouraged to collect their race bibs and merchandise on Friday. If you're unable to attend, someone else can pick it up for you by showing the email with your bib number, which will be sent by March 6.
Entry Fee Schedule:
- $30 through December 31, 2024
- $35 from January 1 through February 14, 2025
- $40 from February 15 through March 6, 2025
- $45 on March 7 and Race Day
ARE Members receive a $5 discount. Registration fees are non-refundable unless you purchase registration insurance. Transfers are permitted through February 28 for a $5 fee. There are no deferrals.
Virtual Participant Option:
If you can't join us in person, sign up as an in-person entrant and switch to virtual participation in late February. Complete your run between March 7 and March 16, 2025, and submit your results via your confirmation page.
The 29.3 Challenge:
Elevate your spring fitness goals by participating in the 29.3 Challenge, which includes:
- Electric City 10K on March 8, 2025
- Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon on April 12, 2025
- Miles on the Mohawk 10M on May 25, 2025
Register for all three races for $135 through January 9, 2025; $150 after January 9. Participants will receive a discount and a commemorative medal for completing the challenge.
Amenities:
Enjoy a festive atmosphere with upbeat music and live announcements. Participants aged 21 and over will receive a ticket for a free beer at Druthers. The event also features a timing split at the halfway point for live tracking, a delicious post-run meal, and the option to have your name printed on your bib if you register by February 18. Optional event shirts and headbands are available for purchase.
