About this event

Join Crailo State Historic Site and the Friends of Fort Crailo on September 21st and 22nd from 11am - 4pm in celebrating Crailo’s 100th anniversary of becoming a NYS Historic Site during this year’s special fall event: Trade Days! Trade Days will highlight many exciting aspects of traditional trade markets held in 17th and 18th century Rensselaerswyck and throughout the Hudson River Valley.

Trade Days is a free event open to the public and will be held rain or shine.

Visitors are invited to explore the grounds of Crailo and enjoy performances like African and Haudenosaunee Storytelling, along with vendors, reenactors, 18th century music and dance, colonial cooking, and a variety of other demonstrations, games, and activities. Trade Days will also feature interpretive performances such as 17th century medical demonstrations, historical martial arts workshops, hand-forging, brewing, and more!

Throughout the weekend, the museum will be open free of charge for self-guided tours and attendees will have the opportunity to see the current seasonal exhibit, A Dishonorable Trade: Human Trafficking in the Dutch Atlantic World. Refreshments from Piece of Heaven food truck will be available each day for purchase.

This event is presented in conjunction with the Hudson River Valley Ramble and sponsored by the Hudson River Valley Greenway National Heritage Area, NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, Peebles Island Division for Historic Preservation, and local businesses.
