About this event
On Sunday, 10 November 2024, we will execute our third annual Veterans Day “Ruck March” Fundraiser to support and honor America's Veterans.
We will begin at the Voorheesville American Legion (Post 1493). We will walk/march 3.4 miles down the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail, then about-face to make a final approach to Voorheesville's new Blackbirds Tavern for a "Finishers' Reception."
No prior military experience is required. Those interested in marching with a ruck sack (back pack) are encouraged to pack their rucksacks with 35 lbs. of nonperishable food items to be donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District at the completion of the ruck.
We are doing this to raise money for the Boot Campaign and the Hidden Battles Foundation while commemorating the Army Combat Medics ("68 Whiskeys") who brought so many of us home.
