The question above is one that some people may need to ask themselves. In viewing the negativity, the lack of confidence, and the lack of structure that many have in their lives, it’s often not a surprise when people are out of work or underemployed.
Your online presence, as well as how you carry yourself, should be a reflection of the confidence you have (or should have). Even if you are out of work, make sure your resume (if it’s online) is up to date, and reflects what you are doing (even if that means actively searching for work).
Don’t give off the impression that you want to be out of work; very often, that is the perception people may get if they see you have no work history, little work history, or no information about you out there at all.
As I mentioned in my prior post, if you are out of work or unhappy with your work, its not the time to wallow in your misery. Attend a local group. Reconnect with friends. Join online groups of people of like mind or common interest. Wake up every day and dress up like you are going to the most important meeting of your life.
Most importantly – believe in yourself.
Until you do, no one else may.
