I used to tease my dog and ask in a very excited voice “Would you like a slap in the face or a punch in the mouth” or “do you want me to crack your skull and punch you in the brain?” She would wag her tail and I’d give her a treat. Of course, I wouldn’t even think about hitting her, but just how she responded to my voice showed me that as long as I said something with passion she would listen. I probably could have said anything at all with an excited voice and she would have been excited.
Lesson learned – when you say something with passion or excitement, no matter what it is, people will respond in kind. Say what you mean, mean what you say, and see just how excited people are around you when you say and do things with enthusiasm.
