I received a letter in the mail from Patrick Broderick who is looking to take a trip to represent the US. I wanted to share a bit about him as we are planning on providing him support for his trip. If you would like to donate to his cause, please send an email to mdjbrod@nycap.rr.com
Here is my story…..
My name is Patrick Broderick, and I am a 9th grader at Saratoga High School. On July, 2013, I will venture on a journey of a lifetime. I will be heading to England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales as a Student Ambassador representing the United States. My goal in this journey is to meet new people, make new friends, representing the U.S. in the best possible light and removing many misnomers foreigners have about America. I hope to break the cultural barriers that we so commonly see today since we will be that future generation.
My personal goal on this journey is to show the people of the United Kingdom how people from America are really like. Additionally I would like to learn about the people of their country, their traditions and customs while sharing U.S’s and upstate NY’s traditions and customs. I hope to represent the U.S. through good will and volunteerism during my Ambassadorship.
Another goal I have while in the U.K. is to increase global awareness and set my generation apart from others. Our loves and passions are very similar to theirs. We want peace on earth, a healthy planet and love of life. My generation is sometimes called generation me. I hope to demonstrate through this ambassadorship that we are a generation we.
I am very much looking forward to this journey and thank you for taking interest in my venture.
Sincerely,
Patrick Broderick
