Whether it’s someone trying to find a date, an employer find out information on a potential candidate, or just someone trying to keep in touch with family, Facebook has become has become the website for just about anything. With over a billion accounts worldwide, many people have different reasons for having a Facebook account. Some people have one to promote an event or a business and others have one to stay in touch with family and friends.
However, they’re are millions people who use Facebook as a microphone for their personal and/or professional life. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it can cause unnecessary drama if someone takes what you say the wrong way. For example, someone may post on their status they are tired of dealing with incompetent people. A co-worker who may have felt slow on the job may see her status and may feel that it’s about her. The co-worker may go on the attack and when in reality, she may be talking about something completely different. Many people seem to mistake Facebook for actual reality when it’s just a website. Please understand that I’m not against Facebook in anyway. Overall, I think Facebook is a great website. I just think that they’re are way too many people who mistake it for real life when it’s not.
