Negative stress also known as Distress can be characterized as anxious or unpleasant. Distress can be long-term or short-term thus decreases performance.
It is important to utilize tips and tricks in order to manage your stress. These tips include but are not limited to:
• Positive Self-Talk
Turn “I can’t do this” into “I’ll do my best.” Often people fail to realize they are their worst enemy. Positive self-talk will encourage you to keep going even through the most difficult situations. Negative self-talk only increases stress, whereas positive self-talk helps you calm down and control stress.
• Emergency Stoppers
Emergency stoppers are quick ways to deal with on the spot stress. Emergency stoppers include counting to 10, taking deep breaths or removing yourself from the situation.
• Pleasures & Hobbies
Doing things you love is a natural way to manage stress. Hobbies such as painting, drawing, listening to music, reading or even cleaning is a healthy way to manage your stress. Trying to do something you love for at least 15 minutes a day is one of the best ways to limit stress.
• Relaxation Techniques
