I had an internship planned for this summer. Then the pandemic happened. Luckily, Braathe Enterprises chose me to be one of their HR interns and I feel so blessed. Even if this was not the internship that I had planned, I am not sad about it because there are many benefits to them. From all my internship experiences, I want to share with you all how to make the most out of yours.
First, I believe asking questions is always important. You can ask questions when you are confused about any tasks or projects and this will allow you to be more detail-oriented. I also like to ask questions because supervisors and managers have great knowledge and experience in that field. I have not been at Braathe Enterprises for that long, however, asking Robert questions about HR has made me more knowledgeable.
Next, I think it is important to expand your professional and social network. Although internships may be short, it is an opportunity to build deeper relationships. Not only can you go eat out with them or connect over Zoom, but you can also reach out to them for career advice or when you are finding another internship/job.
Last of all, I believe that doing any task with full effort is essential. I think even if the task seems small or tedious, they can be opportunities and an intern can greatly impact a company. I think hard work is also always rewarded. I am excited to gain more experience through internships and I hope you are too!
