Merit – based on individual or organizational performance<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
When the merit program works best, it rewards the employee when they perform, and rewards the company companywide when the company’s goals are met. If the employee doesn’t perform or the company doesn’t perform, the employee can still reap part of the benefit of the merit incentive.<\/div>\n

Recognition based – financial and non-financial, when combined, work best<\/div>\n

Online-reward programs – internet sites that offer rewards points that employees can cash in and customize.<\/div>\n
