After spending a weekend in the City with a 19-month-old, I have a whole new respect for NYC parents!
When my sister-in-law and her family announced they were going to be up in our neck of the woods from Charlotte, North Carolina, we were so excited. We love visiting with our nephew Walter Mack! When Dana told us they wanted to see the city on their visit, we quickly made arrangements and were off…well, sort of.
Brett & I tend to hit the ground running on our visits to NYC. There’s so much to see & do! But we learned that it’s a little slower getting around when you have a kid in tow (plus his 6-month pregnant mother!)
We learned very quickly that having a baby in the city is no easy feat! We ran over plenty of toes with our stroller, worried about the germs of the subway and searched high and low for a high chair all over Manhattan.
Walter Mack, on the other hand, never missed a beat. He still flirted with all the waitresses, charmed the entire hotel lobby with his toothy grin and waved to the NYPD in Times Square.
He even got a chance to take a nap in Little Italy… unfortunately, it was during lunch.
We think Walter Mack had a good time in his first trip to the City…we know we sure did!
