One of the first things my husband and I did when we moved to Albany a year ago was check out the Albany Tulip Fest. We had such a good time that we made sure to put it on the calendar for 2011.
After our preview of the tulips, we were ready for the real thing!
Last year we ended up parking (what felt like) miles from Washington Park, but this year we had a plan of going a little earlier on Sunday. We found a spot in front of Jaw’s house and only had to walk a few blocks to the park.
This year, we thought ahead to bring a little blanket so we would’t have to stand eating lunch. We did make another visit to the crepes stand and it was just as good as we remembered! How can you go wrong with strawberries, chocolate and bananas?
We splurged on calories this year and also tried a dog bowl of cheese fires…mmm, mmm, good!
Washington Park was certainly in bloom over the Mother’s Day weekend! This year’s flowers did not disappoint and seemed more vibrant and brilliant than the ones we saw last year.
If you’re in the area…stop by and tiptoe through the tulips, you won’t be disappointed!
