With temperatures peeking in the upper 60&#8217;s to mid 70&#8217;s, life has been much better. I know completely understand why Northerners spend every waking minute outdoors in the spring and summer.<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of things to do outside during the day, but taking advantage of good weather at night isn&#8217;t as easy, or obvious, to us. Y&#8217;all will be impressed to know that Brett and I spent our first summer\/spring night under the stars watching a drive-in movie!<\/p>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"218905_10150589045615650_882200649_18805281_6193615_o.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.albany.com\/i-heart-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2011\/07\/218905_10150589045615650_882200649_18805281_6193615_o.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Who knew that Upstate New York was full of drive-ins that are still in business (seems to be a rarity in the South). With a little online research, we found one just a few miles up the road from Clifton Park in Malta. The cute little town is bracing for the new $4.6 billion Global Foundries plant set to open next year so they&#8217;ve done well to accept change, but it&#8217;s comforting to see how somethings can still stay the same.<\/p>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"malta sign.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.albany.com\/i-heart-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/84\/2011\/07\/malta20sign.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Turns out it&#8217;s not just one drive-in movie&#8230;.it&#8217;s four! The Malta Drive-In Theater features flicks on two screens a night, beginning at sundown. You just find a parking spot, switch the radio over to the FM station broadcasting your movie and you&#8217;re ready to go! The sweet thing is that you can even bring your own popcorn (if you purchase a $5 food permit). No food delivered though! But for $8 admission tickets, it&#8217;s still a great deal.<\/p>\n<p>Brett and I were able to catch a double feature of Fast Five and Paul and had a great time watching from the back of the Santa Fe. Plus it was kinda cool when the clouds moved in and the thunder rolled while the movie was playing&#8230;so much for those great spring days, huh?<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t been to the drive-in yet, check it out&#8230;.you won&#8217;t be disappointed!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One thing is for certain, when the weather is good in Upstate New York, the area is pretty cool!
