Parking Meters In Troy?
TROY NY - The city of Troy will now be accepting proposals for parking meters throughout the month of May.
The city hopes the meters will help open up more parking spots for people who are visiting downtown Troy. Ideally, an addition of 75 meters would help with visitor parking... without cluttering downtown.
The real issue lies with those who live and work in downtown Troy. Parking meters make it difficult for them as they are spending longer than just a couple hours a day in the city.
Right now, Troy has a two hour time limit on parking, which is difficult to monitor and control.
City spokesman Jeff Buell noted the parking meter issue could be in front of City Council by July or August.
