Set Your PR at the Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon

First held in 2019 with over 2,500 participants, the Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon has continued to grow and improve, including course adjustments in recent years to enhance speed and efficiency.

This race features a USATF-certified course (NY22022JG) that begins at Stephen P. Wallace (New Scotland Town) Park in Slingerlands and finishes at Jennings Landing along the scenic Hudson River in Albany.

  • Saturday, April 12, 2025
  • 8:30 AM: Race Start Time

Course Details:

  • Start: Wallace (New Scotland) Town Park, 148 Swift Rd, Slingerlands, NY 12159
  • Finish: Jennings Landing (Amphitheater), 1 Quay St, Albany, NY 12207
  • Course Breakdown: ~2 miles through the streets of Voorheesville, 9 miles on the Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail, and 2 miles on the rail trail connector leading to the Hudson River bike path

Elevation Profile:

  • Starts at 423 feet, with a maximum elevation of 513 feet at 0.42 miles in
  • Gradual 500-foot descent to a finish at 13 feet above sea level
  • 🏃 This downhill course makes it ideal for setting a personal best (PR)!

Entry Fee Schedule:

  • $70 through 12/31
  • $75 in January
  • $85 in February
  • $90 in March
  • $99 in April

Water Stops & Toilets:

  • 🚰 6 water stations along the course
  • 🚻 Portable toilets available at each water stop
  • 🏃 Runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration (bottle, hydration pack, etc.)
  • ♻️ If using provided cups, please dispose of them in garbage cans at aid stations

Note: Race merchandise (T-shirts and zippered hoodies) is not included in the base entry fee but can be added during registration.

Parking/Starting Line Transportation:

Parking is not available at the start line or within 1 mile of it.

Participants are encouraged to park at the ParkAlbany Riverfront Garage by the finish line and utilize the free bus service to the start. The bus service runs continuously from 6 AM until 7:15 AM.

Note the following:

  • ❌ No bus service after 7:15 AM.
  • ❌ No return bus service after the race.
  • 🚗 Drop-offs near the start are allowed but discouraged due to expected traffic.

📌 Reminder: Pets and strollers are NOT permitted on the race course.

2025 Charity of Choice:

Each year, the Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon partners with a local nonprofit. In 2025, the beneficiary is the South End Children's Cafe (SECC), a vital organization dedicated to:

  • Supporting children's physical & mental health
