This shot of the Washington Avenue Armory c.1900, was taken from the corner of Lark St, and not so surprisingly, this incredible building looks exactly the same as it does today.
The key difference is that in this photo, there’s actually weaponry being housed inside for the 10th Battalion of the NY National Guard.
Of course, today it hosts sporting events and concerts. Still, it’s fun to imagine what the rest of this corner looked like back then. I especially like the trees. Not much in terms of trees, these days…
