This shot of the Hawk Street Viaduct c.1905 is a unique view that unfortunately, can no longer be obtained. That’s because in 1970, it was demolished after years of neglect.
Built in 1890, this bridge was an architectural experiment at the time. It spanned the distance of Sheridan Hallow, separating Capital Hill and Arbor Hill. It was demolished due to lack of upkeep. Just one of the many lost relics of Albany.
